Garage Italia's Vespa Speciale, perfect for the Italian "Dolce Vita."

A Vespa, a rattan basket, the sea breeze, and the silence of electric power. It's not just a summer postcard, but a tangible vision of a legend reinterpreted in a contemporary key. The Vespa Special-e "Breakfast at the Lido" is the new project by Garage Italia , created in collaboration with Hotel Byron in Forte dei Marmi. A combination of style, craftsmanship, and technology that celebrates the Dolce Vita in a sustainable way.
A 50 Special that looks to the futureThe starting point is a Vespa 50 Special, a model that symbolizes an era. What's changed is everything you can't see. In place of the classic two-stroke engine, we find a fully electric 7 kW system, capable of offering up to 100 km of range . An interesting figure for a vehicle designed for high-end touring, but also for those who want to get around the city in elegance and silence.
The transformation is invisible to the eye: the battery and engine are integrated into the original chassis, without altering the proportions or the historic line. No forced modifications, no out-of-context additions. Just a philological restoration with an electric twist, preserving the original model's charm.
Pastel paints and nautical referencesBut it's the aesthetic customization that makes this Vespa unique. The bodywork is finished in Tellina , a sandy white shade reminiscent of the Tuscan coast , while the tubular details are painted in Lido77, a pastel blue inspired by vintage beach umbrellas. The combination of the two colors creates a harmonious and relaxing palette , perfect for a breakfast by the sea.
The project isn't limited to the paint job. The interior and contact surfaces were crafted with innovative materials that are consistent with the marine environment. The single-seater saddle and handlebar grips are upholstered in Ohoskin outdoor eco-leather , made from citrus and cactus waste. This antibacterial, mold-resistant material is ideal for outdoor use, without sacrificing comfort or style. The footrest is covered with a teak-effect material from Italdek , chosen to evoke the decks of luxury yachts. This nautical detail reinforces the connection between this Vespa and the atmosphere of Forte dei Marmi.
Tailor-made accessories, between irony and designEach Vespa Special-e “Breakfast at the Lido” is equipped with dedicated accessories . The front and rear luggage racks, also painted in Lido77, support a tobacco-colored rattan basket, handmade by the artisans of Bonacina. A retro touch that transforms the vehicle into a little time machine, ready to transport croissants, newspapers, and sunglasses to the first bar of the day.
It's not just aesthetics: it's functional mobility , designed for those who enjoy summer with ease, but without superficiality. Every detail—from the stitching to the basket's roof housing—has been designed to withstand time, sun, and salt water.
Silence, style, sustainabilityThe Vespa "Breakfast at the Lido" isn't just an electric vehicle. It's a manifesto of sustainable elegance , designed for those who believe that ecology and beauty can coexist. The silence of the electric motor becomes part of the experience: no longer a roar, but the whisper of the breeze, the sound of the pedals, the scent of the sea.
The project is part of an increasingly important trend: zero-emission, tailored customization . Garage Italia, long committed to this field, offers a synthesis of Italian tradition, artisanal luxury, and new technologies.
